Collections: the Maine Studies Room

The doors, above, are 19th century companionway doors from the Boston Pilot Boat Hesper.
The Maine Studies Room on the second floor of the Library houses the Library's special collections of books and videos about the Town of Mount Desert and Maine.
Also of interest in this room are the 19th century companionway doors from the Boston Pilot Boat Hesper. The door frame was specially crafted to fit the doors. A table and chairs makes this room ideal for quiet study.
