Computers

The Northeast Harbor Library has seven computers available for patron use. The computers are available on a first come first serve basis.

 

To use our computers a person must agree to our Internet Use Agreement and sign in on a computer log posted at the Front Desk. During busy times a person is allowed 30 minutes uninterrupted and then must relinquish his or
her computer to the next person waiting. If no one is waiting a person may use the computer for a longer period of time. A printer is available for printing at a cost of 25 cents per page. Computer users are asked not to modify the options and screens that are available on the computers, create bookmarks or favorites or download files to our computers' hard drive.

 

Internet Access

Internet access is provided through the Maine School Library Network. Access is filtered but Internet viewing is not supervised.

 

In order to use the Internet a person must sign our Internet User Agreement. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the Internet User Agreement before they can use the Internet.

 

WiFi

The Library is a WiFi hotspot. Our wifi access is unsecured and is available in all rooms of the Library and immediately outside the building on the lawn and the street. A person only needs a laptop with a wireless card to access our connection. No printer is available through this connection.
